From childhood onward, Joan carefully preserved both her artwork and her journals, leaving behind a remarkable record of her creative life. The collection displayed here traces the evolution of an artist who painted what she loved. Her work was guided not by trends or expectations, but by an inner desire to express her unique perspective on the world. Filled with warmth, humor, keen observation, and quiet insight, her paintings reveal the curiosity and spirit that remained central to who she was throughout her life.

Looking back, her art offers more than a glimpse of her talent—it provides a window into the person she was long before Alzheimer's disease touched her life.
